Startup Festival

The annual Startup Festival in Groningen took place on September 14th at The Social Hub Groningen, amidst the former CiBoGa site and the city center. Celebrating its second edition, the festival brought together startups, entrepreneurs, investors, and enthusiasts from the ecosystem to share knowledge and inspiration regarding startup financing, entrepreneurial challenges, and pathways to successful startups. The festival was organized by NOM, the Investment Fund Groningen, Cottonwood Technology Fund, Founded in Groningen & Founded in Friesland, and the province of Drenthe.

The event featured a packed program with inspiring speakers and experts, including Alain le Loux from Cottonwood and Wendy van Ierschot, who shared valuable insights on entrepreneurship. Participants had the opportunity to learn from seasoned entrepreneurs and technology pioneers. An noteworthy partner of the festival was Google, providing interactive workshops and a panel session. Additionally, a pitch competition took place where four startups presented their businesses to a jury and the audience. Enatom was declared the winner, receiving two tickets to Slush in Helsinki, a prominent startup and investor conference. The event also offered networking and collaboration opportunities, allowing entrepreneurs to connect with potential investors or co-founders.
