Entrepreneurs meeting place opens at Groningen industrial site

The Municipality of Groningen, in partnership with the business sector and educational institutions, has set up a 'Groningen Entrepreneurs Meeting Place' at the southeast industrial site.

The Municipality of Groningen, in partnership with the business sector and educational institutions, has set up a 'Groningen Entrepreneurs Meeting Place' at the southeast industrial site. The Entrepreneurs Meeting Place is a unique concept in the Netherlands.

Alderman Dijkstra, who initiated and devised the concept: 'An adequate supply of good, qualified personnel is of vital importance to the economy of the city of Groningen and to the North as a whole. Coordination between education and the business sector has in recent years been found to be less than satisfactory. The purpose of the Entrepreneurs Meeting Place is to contribute to reducing the distance between the two sectors by initiating, coordinating and facilitating training activities.

Students and trainees will be setting up and manning the meeting place, where they can make contact with entrepreneurs. The Entrepreneurs Meeting Place is now a recognised learning company. The meeting place is also manned by advisors from the educational institute, and an independent account manager will be making contact with companies.
